A Computerized System is being looked at to Collect Property Taxes

The Inland revenue department is at the moment looking at a Computerised system to improve the collection of property taxes in the country.

Recently Officials and a computer specialist  made a presentation to the Cabinet demonstrating  how the collection of property taxes can be improved

The  government  has indicated  that the top 100 properties  are in arrears to the IRD of  more than nineteen million dollars .

According to the government, the new program that the IRD is putting to work will tie the Land Registry, Survey Mapping, Land Registry, Property Valuation and Property Tax in a single, integrated system that will enable the annual property tax to be determined and communicated to the property owner.new Tax Administration Law will have its first reading in Parliament before

The Government  is bringing to parliament at the  end of July 2018 a new Tax Administration Bill  making lawful the computerized system.
