Chairman of the world’s largest legal Cannabis company, Canadian based, Canopy Growth, Bruce Linton is among a raft of high-level speakers at the Canex Business Conference and Expo at the Montego Bay Convention Centre next week.

Linton will join former President of Mexico, Vincente Fox; former US TV talk show celebrity, Montel Williams; former head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), R James Woolsey; and others for the Conference which runs from September 27 to 29.

Linton noted that, “Canex offers a crucial platform for connecting the global cannabis market bringing together industry professionals from across the globe. I look forward to participating and sharing some of our initiatives and recent developments with Canopy Growth.”

Canopy Growth, with a market value of over C$11 billion was the first regulated, publicly traded cannabis producer in North America, trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange as WEED.

It began trading as CGC on the New York Stock Exchange on May 24, 2018, the first of any cannabis producer. Alcohol giant Constellation Brands which is best known for its Corona and Modelo beer brands recently took up a 38 per cent stake in Canopy Growth.

Jamaica in 2015 decriminalised personal possession of small amounts of ganja and fostered the development of an orderly legal ganja industry in Jamaica, for the use of the plant and its by-products for medical, therapeutic and scientific purposes.

Canex is an annual business-to-business (B2B) event that brings together cannabis industry experts from the US, Canada, South and Central America, Europe and other regions.
